Much of our commercial work in this area involves conversions and holiday accommodation — commercial premises becoming flats, farm buildings becoming lets, older buildings being brought up to a standard they were never built for. That work needs an electrician who can design the layout as well as install it, deal with the regulations around communal areas and escape routes, and produce the paperwork the building control officer and the insurer will both ask for.

Do you work with main contractors and developers?
Yes. We work to drawings and specifications, coordinate first and second fix around other trades, and attend site meetings where that helps keep the programme on track.
Can you handle a commercial to residential conversion?
Yes, including designing the electrical layout, separate metered supplies for each unit, landlord supplies for communal areas, emergency lighting and the certification the project will need at sign-off.
Do holiday lets need an EICR?
Holiday accommodation is covered by a duty of care to guests, and most insurers and booking platforms expect a current electrical safety report. A five-yearly EICR is the accepted standard, and PAT testing of appliances is usually expected alongside it.
Can you work outside business hours to avoid disruption?
For retail and hospitality premises we can often work around opening times or during changeover periods. Discuss it at quote stage so we can build it into the programme and the price.
